Maybe I just don't get it. Too "out-there" for my tastes.

Not exactly MIX-100 FM EZ-listening music. Only the adventurous should apply.

But good luck if you decide to persue it.

I'm not sure why this release is credited to Matador - I can only assume that's the American release - but the Warp 10+ series was all released through Warp in it's native UK.

Secondly, they aren't all remixed by Warp artists. Artists like Four Tet (previously Output, now Text), Andy Votel (Twisted Nerve) and Mogwai (Rock Action/Southpaw/Pias) are not Warp artists and never have been. The same goes for Stereolab and a few others.

Finally, the whole Warp 10+ series has seminal artwork by The Designers Republic.
I love my Designers Republic.

Tracks on this compilation range from, strangely genious to just plain weird. Each song is written by one Warp artist and remixed by another warp artist. This definitely isn't for everyone. It's very avant garde, but out of all that strange energy that so often goes awry on this collection, there are some times when it just WORKS, resulting in some fairly solid tracks. My favorite is Autechre - Vletrmx remixed by Plaid.
