Hats of to mr. Gilles Peterson for staying on the pulse of fresh jazz (informed) music for decades now. On We Out Here he brings together some of the most exciting names in the current London jazz scene. After older jazz records influencing electronic music in the 90s and 00s, these days it's the other way around. The young jazz musicians included on this compilation clearly grew up on electronic dance music and hiphop, and incorporated that influence in a fresh new sound, that puts emphasis on vibe and groove over technicality.. In 2018 Jazz really made its way out of its niche, with a younger crowd digging new jazz musicians, on stage and on record. We Out Here is a perfect compilation to show you why!

I couldn't be happier with this pressing, it sounds really nice and regardless of if you choose black or coloured vinyl, I think it's a must have if you are even a little bit curious about this scene.

Various- We Out Here Heard Kokoroko’s Abusey Junction. Had to buy the album, a beautiful track. A sublime collection and a great reflection of the Uk Jazz scene.

Bought this on sight. A compilation by the most prolific DJ of our times that happens to be a big jazz fan and also run a record label that is doing a compilation on modern jazz in the UK. How much more do you need to know? On that note. LP looks and sounds great. Decent pressing and mastering too, some noise on vinyl but also didn't clean it first. This LP has a great perspective that covers the vast range of sounds and feels but still works as a unit. I am looking forward to spending more time with this record and thanks Brownswood for burning this torch. It's bright.

Well worth a listen, the Kokoroko track is sublime - a fantastic introduction to the healthy sounds of the current UK London jazz scene. Lovely sleeve art and sleeve notes too.
