Superb library music album from 1970 France, created by a percussionist who actually made up his own instruments.
Do not be mistaken though, it is MUCH more musical and structured than all these Lasry-Baschet records or the Goa & Frankie Bourlier album for instance.
The whole thing is actually quite lovely and beautiful, with some tracks bordering on atonal or purely rhythmic, and others borrowing from moody jazz, Latin American music or modern classical - but it never gets sterile or cold or overtly avant-garde.
The emphasis is clearly on listening pleasure here, although easy listening dross it ain't.
It is quite subtly put together, and quite varied too !
In all, a little known gem from the early 70's French scene (and thousand times better than all the Jac Berrocal and Horde Catalytique pour la fin "clinical skronk" stuff if you ask me..), don't miss the CD reissue !
