I heard this the day it was made, as Paul aka Wax Doctor had cut a plate that evening after leaving the studio and handed it to Grooverider. I heard Groove start his set with it that night, the affect on the crowd was simply DEVESTATING. Paul and Ron had written a monster, and the 35 DJs who got a promo a few weeks later took this to Anthem status. However because 'A New Direction' was such a massive hit, the two AA tracks 'Herbal Tekno & Protoplasm' got overlooked bar a few DJs, but a few years later these two tracks were still being played out. Still sounds imense today, a simply brilliant EP.

A truly classic release with three very strong tracks and although released as a hardcore record at the time, the B side is a strictly techno affair. Both 'Herbal Tekno' & 'Protoplasm' sound heavily Detroit & Belgium influenced, similar to productions by artists like Suburban Knight and Frank De Wulf.

Has been re-pressed but without 'Protoplasm' which is a shame because its probably the best track on this timeless EP. The start of an interesting and varied music making career.
