The American ' brothers ' Gene and Dean Ween are the Kings of the pastiche. For the time being, highlight in their oeuvre was chocolate & Cheese (1995), where they become a master showed in the most diverse music styles, from Prince-funk to country & western. Eight years later they turn out still nothing from their zones to have lost his touch. Quebec begins with pounding rock, to immediately switch to a sugar sweet pop song, accompanied by the bossa nova rhythm of a living organ. So Many People In The Neighbourhood is a prime example of a Ween song. A minimalist (from two lines existing) text, accompanied by distorted voices and weird drum sounds. Ween falls with little to compare, or should their absurdist overseas colleagues Sparks. Quebec than the lofi version of it in the same year Lil ' Beethoven. Much meaning has it all but entertaining though.
