Merry Christmas! Now to take a look at an album that I got for Christmas this year: Mandatory Fun, my first Weird Al album!
"Handy" is a near perfect parody of the hit song "Fancy". It's funny and weird with way to many puns to count. It's a great song and a good start, but there is another song that comes later on this album that should switch places with this one.
"Lame Claim To Fame" is not as good as "Handy" but is very cleverly written and will make you chuckle a lot for sure.
"Foil". Where to start with this one? This song seems to be about a person telling the listener about how he likes to use foil to store his food, until it starts talking about alien theories and other crazy stuff. I mean what did you expect? It's Weird Al! It's not as good as the first two songs in my eyes.
"Sports Song" should be sung by a real sports team as they walk or skate onto the field or ice. It's so hilarious!
"Word Crimes" is, in my opinion, better than the original song ("Blurred Lines") it is based on! This song is (not to sound like a broken record here) amazingly funny! It complains about how everyone is picky about grammar and constantly correcting you.
"My Own Eyes" is a man humorously sharing the obscure and disturbing things he's seen in his life. It is catchy and... unique, to say the least.
"NOW That's What I Call Polka!" is a silly and nutty song that is more of a experience than a song. You have listen to this one yourself because it makes fun of to many popular songs to list and with to many sound effects it is amazing Al managed to pull this thing off!
"Mission Statement". I'm so sorry Weird Al, I just don't like this song at all.
"Inactive" is not really my thing. It's okay but doesn't live up to the original. I don't know if this song should have been parodied in the first place.
I watched the music video for "First World Problems" so many times! This song is somewhat underrated. It is about a dude complaining about very minor things when he actually has a very good life.
"Tacky" is the song I think should have been first up on the roster on this album. I don't care for the music video but I love the song itself! This is one of my favorite songs off of this CD! This instant classic is about a guy who is ignorant and spoiled. It is EXTREMELY funny!
"Jackson Park Express" is one of Weird Al's super long songs. I have to say it's really funny! It's about a guy who meets a girl he likes on a train. It works way better than it sounds.

Weird Al is a song writing genius and this album proves that he is the funniest that has ever been born! This was one heck of a good Christmas gift!

If this is really going to be Weird Al's last traditional album, it's a great one to go out on. There's much better variety than Alpocalypse, without any truly skippable songs in the bunch. My favorite original is "My Own Eyes" (an exhilarating, pitch-perfect Foo Fighters tribute that lists a bunch of bizarre memories) and my favorite parody is "Tacky" (turning Pharrell Williams' "Happy" into a gleeful ode to annoying, tasteless behavior. You should see Al perform this on tour - he ensures that it's a particularly memorable way to kick off a concert.)
