Anyone have a lead on the spoken word sample used in "That's What They Understand?" Many thanks for your consideration.

I'm confident that if DJ Sprinkles and DJ Sotofett were to remix each other, the very fabric of space and time would rip apart...or perhaps doorways to the multiverse would appear like flowers in spring. Does anyone have contact details for NASA?

For sure the best release on the Long trax series, amazing progressions and very different remixes in any case, i don't know any deep house release better than this this year.

Probably the finest of the three EPs from "Long Trax"

Opening with Pigs - my favourite of the Long originals - it's amazing how much of a hook the vocal sample becomes; I've been saying "you see?" to myself all week. Despite the title and the subject it's clearly touching on, it's not taking an aggressive stance, seemingly staying referential and presenting a reminder that the topic has been on going since and before the civil rights era.

The DJ Sprinkles' overdub of Daylight and Dark couldn't be more in Terre's ballpark if it tried. As a DJ she wanders through dark and light contrasts with ease and with this overdub, the forest of chunky 303s digs deeper and deeper until the pads are released around the 8 minute mark. On the corsica studios sound system, this was really something.

Finishing the project on a slightly warmer note, Long's original of "That's What They Understand" leaves more questions than answers, it doesn't present a hypothesis or any ideas of "hope" it just provides the fact, which is a worthy style of analysis often overlooked by the current left-leaning political discourse.

Sprinkles' interpretation has been produced through the joyous lens of "Feelin' Vibes", a wondrous record on Bottom Line. From my perspective, Sprinkles is using an upbeat sample palet to reaffirm her arguments against optimism. Optimism is the over-used tool in dissections of social problems, because "That's What They Understand".

A stellar EP and a stellar album. Comatonse is simply the best.

Still available on Terre's Comatonse site and with shipping is about the same as it was in stores. Don't let those fackers selling their copies profit from this limited release.
