A new pop-dub direction for Yagya - but not a very good direction!!! Musically its over produced as if trying to appeal to a wider commercial audience. The dub vibes, actually more like dubby pop, are clean and uplifting. A bit OTT clean and uplifting in my personal opinion...Both vocal and instrumentals sound as if they belong in a HMV store playing in the commercial trendy 'chill-out/dance compilation' section. The vocals on CD1 add a very upbeat pop like feel to the music, with lyrics that are typically cheesy, overused, and very commercial sounding that don't even add to the music! The instrumental's on CD2, though better then CD1, still unfortunately sound to commercial and pop like, missing and removing the absorbing & deep sounds of Yagya's much better dubby-ambient instrumentals as from previous albums. The depth and immersive atmospheres are certainly missing here, and sadly takes dub-techno to the commercial mass pop dance culture - 'Sold Out to the Masses' is the impression left listening to this album!

One of the best Yagya albums. This one is very romantic, emotional and melodic, with relaxing and soft musics from the first to the last track. The female and male vocals are beautifull. "Drowned in dreams" and "Waiting for the rain" are two tracks wich honestly i don´t enjoy that much, they lack dynamic and they sound a bit cliché from musics that usually are played at the end of movies during the credits. The cd2 sounds empty without the vocals. some tracks work well in instrumetal version while other tracks work only well with the vocals, so the cd1 works much better than the cd2. Overall its a enjoyable Album,in my opinion this album and "while i dream during the process" are the most accomplished Albums by Yagya.

After three stellar albums, Yagya turns in THE INESCAPABLE DECAY OF MY HEART, and it's... a new direction. But it's not really a good direction. The addition of vocals somehow makes the album sound a bit cheesy, a bit too pop, which stands in contrast to the dub techno backing. And while this isn't the fault of the vocalists themselves, there's only so much you can do. "Gabriel" is pleasant enough, but is a wan experience. With lyrics, as well, there's a tendency to try to make them 'uplifting,' though the results are more often bubblegum than profound. "Tears Will Fall" is a particularly egregious example, while the lyrics of "My Star Is A New Song" sounds as if it would be better suited for a club track. It's better just to hear the vocals as texture. But even on the instrumentals disc, the tracks feel thin without that extra melodic component. (Fun fact: "Reverbs and Delays" and "The Salt on Her Cheeks" appear on both versions of the album, even though they're both instrumental to begin with.) It's certainly a disappointment, given Yagya's earlier work.

After the masterpiece of Rigning (Rain) Guðmundsson sounds washed out, out of new ideas. The cover-up with vocals so cheesy like a Bollywood movie soundtrack doesn't work.

Granted, each to their own, but for me, this is a massive disappointment. I'd go so far to say cringe-worthy in places.
The vocals ? This sounds like crooning ultra lounge with extra cheese. Even disc 02, apart from a couple of tracks, doesn't cut it as the musical accompaniment to those vocals is still contained and it sounds kinda dinky. For my money lets just hope this was an experiment. If not, then his first three albums will remain lifelong favourites, but I will part with no more of my cash if it's going to be like this. I wish I had listened first ...

I haven't heard the vocal version yet. Can't comment on that.

Just give me a 12" with "The Salt On Her Cheeks" instrumental, with a whole side to itself cut at 45rpm, and I'll be super happy with that.
Easily one of my favorite tracks of the year. DAMN.
Vinyl. Please. As usual.

I don't like vocals. I've turned to electronic music, because I was bored with all the singing in songs. When I heard Yagya was making an album with vocals I remembered how disappointed I was with Magic Sound Fabric's last album (which featured vocals). The music was good, but the singing ruined everything.

Imagine my surprise when I fell in love with Yagya's new album. I've always loved this producer because of his organic and natural style. His music flows gently like a river without any bumps down the road. And the vocals are executed perfectly. They are so good that for the first time in my life I prefer the vocal version instead of the instrumentals only.

Great album, 5/5, do buy it and enjoy. I don't get people that complain that Yagya's music is mainstream and MTV worthy. Whoever claims dub techno is mainstream needs to check with a doctor, because there's clearly something wrong with their heads.

This contrary reactions remind me a bit to the release of Lusine's - A Certain Distance in 2009.
Certainly it's all a matter of taste, but to rate this album with 1/5 is just plain immature and far-fetched.
However, for me the new Yagya album is simply brilliant and together with the new Kilowatts album,
my two absolute favorite albums in 2012 so far. Like fladza said: "A new genre is born". Call it Yagya! (-;

Well, I wont be looking out for the next album from this guy. This is a huge disappointment, apparantly Yagya wants to be included on the next Ministry Of Sound Ibiza compilation. Couldn't the lyrics at least have been a bit interesting and not so banal? ("tears will fall, if you leave I will cry" etc etc)

This album is original and full of emotion.
It is also mastered well, and has good fidelity.
When you are taking a woman out for a fun night, this LP is perfect. Just have it playing in the background. If you have a nice sound system, then it will sound all the more holographic.
It can work during the day as well... it is super chill.
