Unlike other bands in the short-lived "cowpunk" scene, Yip Yip Coyote doesn't just dabble; the trio goes all-in, lyrically, musically and visually. The result is the cleverest and best-produced work from this odd scene. It's weird and fun, combining indie pop, new wave, and theatrical/dude-ranch Country & Western themes. English cowboys and cowgirls? Backing vocals consisting of a male voice going "shop-ping!"? Love it. There's absolutely no reason for it to exist. The B-side is really good, too.

My copy is pretty distorted in the inner groove, though; would be nice to see a digital release of all of their material from the original masters. There is apparently a Japanese CD, but it's quite expensive. Who owns the masters? Put them up on Bandcamp!
