I would say this is definitely one for fans only. If you enjoy Malmsteen's relentless widdly, widdly, flashy guitar style, then this is one for you. If, however, you'd rather not hear him running endless arpeggios up and down scales and ruining some classic songs, then avoid. Although technically brilliant, his playing lacks any soul, or feeling, making it a violent clash with classic Blues songs such as Blue Jeans Blues, where less would be much more, as the saying goes. And what he does to some classics like While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Purple Haze, Foxy Lady and Paint It Black is inexcusable and renders then unrecognizable. There's a difference between putting ones personal mark on a song, and utterly annihilating the original. I have enjoyed some of his albums in the past put this one leaves me cold. Oh, and the vocals a pretty rough as well.
