Just to chime in. One of the previous reviewers commented that this release contains an 808 drum machine. Far from it. Sounds like a DMX. The claps, rim shots, snares sound typically like a DMX. Could be wrong. Might be a combination of Drum machines but there's no 808 in earshot as far as I can hear. I suspect a tad of gated reverb aswell. Excellent use and programming of the classic beat box.

Not one of my favourite old school hip hop records by any means but what a funking fresh drum workout to boot :)

This record is a great hip hop classic.

My first BATB acquisition. Excellent rapping over the 808 drum rhythms with that childhood tune of "The Snakecharmer's Song" circulating as the break. Great tune but not the gemstone of the Beauty and the Beat label. This seventy five word minimum on these reviews is killing me but, hey, there are worst things in the world. I just recently finished gathering excellent versions of all of the BATB releases and will unload to any interested members.
