I guess I was lucky, very few pops and crackles nice warm sound, Its not demo worthy pressing by any means but I did get it at a great price so am fairly happy.

I found the pressing to be pretty terrible, which is a shame because it's a fantastic piece of work.i emailed sacred bones and they said they hadn't had any complaints.
Some months later,my dad order three John carpenter albums and the pressings were terrible.seems to me this label is doing great work but needs to up its game in terms of manufacturing/pressing.

Took my brand new copy out of the shrink wrap put it on the turntable and was astounded at all the scuffs and marks on the vinyl. If the shrink didn't have the original sticker on it I would have thought someone just repackaged a used record. It says pressed by Rainbo Records, so I guess they are to blame. I guess it wasn't just my copy given the other comments here. I suppose all the people with colored pressings wouldn't be able to see all the marks as easily, one of the draw-backs of most colored pressings.

As for the music... Love, love her voice, and she can really let it rip. Best when darkest and most visceral. Goth-pop. But now and then the music falls on the wrong side of the pop-spectrum, and I feel sheepish listening to it (See: Siphon).

This LP is my most beautiful pressing in my collection but the most noisy one too. Also, it skips on "Veka" (Side B)...

The title of the 6th album from Madison, Wisconsin’s Zola Jesus (aka Nika Resa Danilova) is the Bosnian word for “chains”. There are no such restrictions here, as she creates and enables ambient choral haunts that float in and out of consciousness, darkly celestial doom-tribal rock with an industrial kick, rhythmic-triggered washes of synthesizer sound riding on deep drum beats, and strains of neo-classical orchestration that sweep the sound stage with soaring strings. All of this is carefully wrapped around her elegantly rich, sibylline voice. Periodically recalls artists such as Danielle Dax, Chelsea Wolfe, EMA, Diamanda Galas, Foetus. “Okovi” is an audio journey to another land, one where the air shimmers with soundwaves of seductively disturbing, surreal songs. It’s an oddly enchanting world.

The same record inside a numbered piece of paper. The actual sealed record is the same. A little disappointed.

Beautiful record but a noisy one. One of the noisiest in my collection.

How does the black & white swirl edition sound? I have had a lot of bad experiences with Sacred Bones vinyls in the past.

The rust "Rust-Colored" vinyl has a lot of surface noise. Luckily the album is pretty loud so it's not a deal-breaker. Labels and pressing plants need to be more careful when mixing different colored PVC pellets. They don't all melt at the same temperature.
