For their fourth album, Zuco 103 makes the listener go WHAA! Not out of disbelief, but mostly out of pleasure. Lilian Vieira's voice is still the focal point on the bouncy "Na Mangueira" and adds a nice percussive element on "Nhá." But there's also a swinging romanticism with the strings of "Mayfly" and the breaks of "Conscience," though the rock attitude of "Vou Levar" is a little more questionable. But there's no questioning the perky, if slightly silly, "Futebol." The group makes a brief foray away from Brazil and into Africa for "Duele Le Le" and the title track, as well as Jamaica for some upbeat dub on "Love Is Queen Omega" with Lee Scratch Perry (who reappears on the more house-influenced "It's A Woman's World." And "Javé" closes the album on a more mellow note, though with fat chunks of horns to secure the bass. Let this album elicit many squeals of joy.
