J.T. (born Jordan Tepper in Forest Hills, Queens, New York)

J.T. attended George Washington University, but left one year short of graduation to pursue a career in rap music. He recorded a few demo tapes and later, a family friend introduced him to Gary Baker, who worked as a lawyer for Atlantic Records who forwarded the demo tapes to the chief executive of EastWest Records America, Sylvia Rhone. In 1991, J.T. released his debut album, "Kick the Funk." J.T.'s only charting song was the single, "Swing It" which managed to peak at #66 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 5 weeks. His follow-up singles "Let Me Groove U" and "Brainstormin" failed to chart
