Would really love to see some remasters and vinyl reissues (from the original master tapes preferably) of his Milestone era material from the 70's. Albums like Sahara and Enlightenment are some of Tyner's greatest achievements.

R.I.P. to one of the greatest of all times who passed today at the age of 81.

April 30, 2021He was my favorite pianist, primarily due to his variety .
While other great players like Oscar Peterson, Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans sounded similar on nearly all their recordings ( and I have about 30 plus combined of their CD's ) , Tyner had so much variety .
The early Impulse trios , the Coltrane years , the dense modal stuff like Sahara , the terrific Horizon with multiple saxes, flute and violin , and the orchestral style of Fly With The Wind , as well as periodic solo recordings.
Absolutely remarkable.
