Matthew Lovett

Profile:
Matthew Lovett is a musician and lecturer based at the University of Wales Newport. Taking a pluralist and heterogenetic approach to music practice, recent performances include the Sounds New Contemporary Music Festival, Freedom of the City, Supernormal, Swn, Brecon Jazz and Experimentica. His soundtrack for the feature film ‘Playing Burton’ was premiered in 2011 and his work has been broadcast on Radio 3’s Hear and Now contemporary music programme. Other projects include performances and commissions for the Welsh National Opera, National Museums and Libraries of Wales and Ffotogallery. Teaching interests include composition, performance, critical musicology, sonic vitalism and political economy
