Leah Santos

Leah Santos is a good friend of mine. We have known each other since 1984 when we met in Houston, Texas.

Leah is a talented, brilliant woman, with a very high IQ and tremendous musical ability. She has struggled for decades to gain not just recognition, but financial success. A series of unfortunate relationships resulting in financial ruin, struggles with depression, anxiety, drugs and alcohol, have all been her obstacles.

Leah found moderate success early in life and will proudly show you her five gold records for songs she has written and recorded. She has performed all over the country from New York to Los Angeles, and everywhere she goes, she meets people who have known her in the music business. She has a great love for animals and if she is your friend, she will brag to everyone about your talents. Her gifts to me have included boosting my confidence and helping me believe in myself. It is because of Leah that I was able to express my own musical talents, singing backup on the blues album "Full Circle" with Leah's then-band, Cold Shott and the Hurricane Horns. She is also a gifted psychic, and an amazing astrologer, numerologist and palmist.

Leah has sung with Bonnie Bramlett's band The Entertainers, with Ted Nugent, Ambrosia, Vixen, and Ike & Tina Turner. She knew Janis Joplin and even dated Billy Joel in high school. British keyboardist and composer Alan Reeves wrote about Leah in his book Sex, Booze and Blues, "I found a great girl singer who sung like a cross between Janis Joplin and Tina Turner, and her name was Leah Santos. Origin Portugais."

Today, she is clean and sober and homeless. She is currently staying in a rehabilitation center following a medical crisis, but when she is released she has no home to return to. All Leah really wants is to return to her music and to be able to make a decent living pursuing her dreams and doing what she does best. But without money or a home, it is nearly impossible to record albums, buy stage clothes, or even go anywhere for auditions or to meet with other musicians.
