Vengaboys

Profile:
Vengaboys is a Dutch Eurodance music group and the brainchild of Dutch producers Wessel van Diepen and Dennis van den Driesschen (Danski and Delmundo) and consists of lead (female) vocalists Kim Sasabone and Denise Post-Van Rijswijk and male vocalists Robin Pors and Donny Latupeirissa.

The group enjoyed commercial success in the late 1990s. They are best known for their hit singles "We Like to Party! (The Vengabus)", "Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!!" and "We're Going to Ibiza!". Scoring a massive 7 top 10 and two number one hits in the U.K. Top 40. Plus reaching the top of the charts in over 40 countries including Germany, India, Spain, South Africa, Thailand, Poland, Australia, Mexico and more. They have sold an estimated 25 million records worldwide.

On 2 May 2001, the World Music Awards awarded Vengaboys with the award for best-selling dance group of the year.

And the hits just kept coming; Shalala lala, Kiss (When the sun don’t shine), Uncle John From Jamaica all became solid top 5 hits around the World. As a matter of fact, EVERY Vengaboys
single released, became a UK Top 40 hit..

To celebrate the success with the fans, the group organised a massive World Tour through Europe, the U.S., Australasia, Japan and South America. Then the team decided to call it quits for a while.

In 2007 the group reformed and embarked on what is now known as their “Non-stop World Tour”.

In 2019, Dutch online newspaper Nu.nl declared Vengaboys as the most successful Dutch pop group in history.

''Vengaboys'', whatever that means, even if are the two hidden producers and the four crazy dancers, for me is one of the best band ever.
Their pop songs like ''Uncle John From Jamaica'', ''Shalala Lala'', ''Kiss'', ''Boom boom boom boom'' and ''We're going to Ibiza'' reached epic successes and are timeless classics.
''We like to party'' was a hymn of the late 90's.
Even their less famous tracks in the ''Platinum Album'' were very catchy, like ''24/7 in my 911'' and ''Skinny Dippin''.
But despite all this commercial success, they were geniuses in tradicional electronic music.
''48 hours'' and ''Opus 3 in D#'' are two of the biggest anthem trances ever.
''Overwhelm Yourself'' is a perfect rave itself.
And what say about the techno?
Even being musics to fill the cd between the commercial tracks in ''The Party Album'', were very melodic and each one very singular.
Hear ''Paradise'', ''You and me'' ''All Night Long'' and the others.
Even their almost unknown tracks like ''Better world'', ''I like the music pumpin''' and ''I love what you're doing to me'', that were published only in the first version of ''The Party Album'' have very unique rhythms.
After 10 years without productions, they returned in 2010 with ''Rocket To Uranus'', that does not represent the quality of the old days,
And in 2013 the ''Hot Hot Hot'' made a little success.
And is very good to see Vengaboys alive in 2014, with ''2 Brazil''.
Long Life to these guys!!!
