British Cellist, 8 August 1871 (Ross-on-Wye) – 17 March 1963 (London). Composer and teacher from late 19th century, later becoming professor of cello at both the Royal College and Guildhall schools of music. Best known works include In An Old Fashioned Town and Tarantula.
