David Gilmour was born on 6th March 1946 in Cambridge, the second child of Douglas Gilmour, a senior lecturer in Zoology at the University and Sylvia, a teacher. Best known as guitarist, vocalist and writer with Pink Floyd, he is also renowned for solo work and collaborations with other artists including Kate Bush, Paul McCartney, and Pete Townshend.
In June 20, 2019, Gilmour sold the majority of his guitars which he had accumulated over the years since the 60´s. Including many of that was used on landmark Pink Floyd albums including his fabled Black Stratocaster. All 126 guitars listed was sold for $21.5 million which was donated to ClientEarth organisation.

Well David seems to be selling most, if not all of his guitars for charity, which means Rattle That Lock will probably be his last album. (if only i could hear him play The Narrow Way part3 one last time, even if it is just an instrumental rendition.)
The guy's been playing guitar since he was 9 years old (1955) and has left a great legacy... He's a great guy and a great musician.

I am listening to him from last few years and the all i can say is he got great voice.
