The Sirs

The Sirs

Austrian Beat and early Garage band from Vienna

Founded in 1968, original members were Charly Foglar, Robert Zawiacic and Peter Güttenberger. They met playing in a Viennese folk group called Akkordeonorchester Fiala. They united to form a more modern group called Flyers. Finally they added Walter Madl and Michael Manak as vocalist. The Sirs played shows in Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland. Then they changed their name to THE SIRS to record two singles (Sunshine Girl, Proud Mary). In 1975, the band disbanded.

They re-united after in 2008 and play shows in Vienna.
