As a DJ, "Huggie" never disappoints the crowd and truly enjoys spinning extended 4-8 hour sets where he can showcase the full digital spectrum of his unique style. With an uncanny ability to weave all genres of electronic music together with the precision of a surgeon and a passion borne of years involved in music, he breaks the mold and rattles expectations of his audience. Refusing to limit himself to a single style of music, he sees the links between musical styles and exploits those links to entice, intrigue and enliven, sometimes turning the experience into a new direction by playing with the “Vector Tribe Drummers”, a multi member percussion group. Huggie channels the inherent emotion in his music as an artist, expressing his mood through his music making each set different, moving and-ultimately-worth waiting for.
From the L.A. Coliseum to intimate small private loft gatherings, Huggie’s versatile style has found him in building big and small and playing in forty-seven of fifty states and internationally in South Korea, Canada, Hawaii and Canada. Being credited with a variety of accomplishments throughout his career, "Huggie" is proud to hold the honor and respect of the music community and the recognition as one of the most talented DJs North America has to offer. With an uncanny versatile awareness to the crowds needs, “Huggie” can adapt to Clubs, Massives, & intimate gatherings and he is currently preparing himself for a busy 2010 schedule both in the studio and performing.
"Huggie" first gained notoriety as a producer/remixer, with his first track "Paradox Dreams"©. His freshman release appeared alongside well respected artists, such as Micro, Adam X, T-1000, Vicious Vic and Frankie Bones on the X-SIGHT RECORDS© compilation entitled "BELIEVE 96-97". Not stopping there, "Huggie" has included remix work into his repertoire for (the now defunct) PHATT PHUNK RECORDS© (Los Angeles) as well as FUNKED UP RECORDS (Texas). Two tracks "Ali Sun"© and "Sunrise in Tikal"© were released on the IRIDIUM MUSIC© compilation "Higher Collective Consciousness"©. His most recent work has teamed him up with one of L.A.’s most talented veterans DJ Thee O with tracks “Night Owl - Toes In The Sand Recordings (June 09)” and “Don't Fake - Protium Recordings (June 09)”to be released this summer of 2009 with more in the works.
Huggie’s current project is an album titled “Journal 3/28” which is dedicated to the passing of his mother and other challenges that life has recently given Huggie a different view on life, people, and this world we live in. This album, peppered with a mixture of Ambient, Trip Hop, House, Tribal Techno, Breaks, Acid and other progressive landscapes, is a tour de force for Huggie and another exciting representation of his love for Electronica and all of its beautiful genres.
