Died 4th November, 2008 Kingston, Jamaica.

Byron Lee was a Jamaican bassist, pianist, band leader, and producer. Established the world-renowned Dynamic Sounds Studios in 1969.
He ran the labels Dynamic Sounds, Dragon's Breath Records (2), Sunshine, BRA, Soul (3), BMN, Kentone Records.
He created the famous group "the Dragonaires" in 1957 (name taken from the coat of arms of his college where a dragon appears).
Awarded the Order of Distinction by the Jamaican government in 1982 for services to music, and the Order of Jamaica on 24th October, 2008 in his hospital bed. He also launched the annual Jamaica carnival in 1990 and appeared with The Dragonaires in the James Bond film Dr. No.
