Chris Sollars

Chris Sollars, artist & musician, of $ollar$, 💀ture (SF) & Egzoz (Istanbul), 307 Outlaws (Wyoming), & Audio Violence (SF). Since 1996 Sollars has worked on site in the landscape and street to subvert public space through absurd performance interventions and since starting a band in 2016, instrument construction, music, and lyrics have become an integral way to turn discontent for manmade environmental and social catastrophes into soundtracks for his art. With $ollar$ he creates a spectrum of composed and improvised fuzzed psych songs with melodic overtones built from guitar, drums, drum machines, chains, trash cans, wheels, and stop signs. Sollars is also the drummer and vocalist in 💀ture with Lee Lavy, guitarist and vocalist in Egzoz his international band based in Istanbul with Archie McKay and Erdem Eroğlu, drummer and vocalist in the alt country band 307 Outlaws in Sheridan WY, and in the battery powered electronic drum & synth duo Audio Violence with Mansur Nurullah. In 2022 Sollars founded Object Records (4) a sculpture sound edition label for releasing art & music.
