Pitchshifter

Pitchshifter

Profile:
Nottingham based strum and bass noiseniks, began their career in 1989 playing in an industrial metal style similar to Godflesh which they termed "Death Industrial", however by the mid 1990's they had began to mix Punk, Drum n Bass, Hip-Hop and Techno influences into their sound. Have toured the world playing thousands of shows and have a fanatically loyal fanbase. Strong political agenda, but not one that detracts from the music.

Forgotten band. But it should (in my) quite good influence on the industrial music in England. And as one of the few bands have managed to keep each plate attached bar (thanks to "crisp, sharp" sound and a lot of ideas. Really "a lot").And don't fall in diameter. While on the other hand, better to break up "on top" before recording still the same albums and "fall", as it makes a lot of todays bands.

Submit is a great record but maybe too metal for the younger industrial crowd. If you fall into that category just get Industrial and Desensitized. Everything past that is doesn't work for me, though they get an A for the attempt to evolve the band. It made for a definite broader fan-base and showing of metalheads, grindcore kids, rivitheads, and punk rockers at the later shows. Twelve years later these three records still stand the test of time.

Back when they were grindcore-with-a-drum-machine: awesome. Submit is an incredible album. They move more toward industrial on Desensitized, which wasn't bad. When they added the punk element, though, they took a downturn, IMO. I'll stick to Submit, thanks.
