Bates G. Burt

Rev. Bates Gilbert Burt (1878–1948 Virginia) was son of Ma­son Will­iam Burt and Ab­i­gail Gil­bert Bates, and hus­band of Em­i­ly May Burt.
In 1922, he be­gan com­pos­ing an­nu­al carols, send­ing them as Christ­mas greet­ing cards to his pa­rish­ion­ers in Mar­quette, and lat­er Pon­ti­ac, Mi­chi­gan.
