Take every conventional pop star cliché you know and Luigi Masi side steps them all effortlessly.

Luigi was born of an Italian father and Danish mother in Brazil and raised in London which helps explain the range of musical influences which are featured throughout his debut album “Save His Shoes”.

Passionate about music from an early age Luigi played the violin and the piano and was a key figure in his school choir. Unaware of it at the time, his early experiences of musical performance were clearly the trigger which would later spurn him on to build a career in the world of Pop.

Surprisingly, it was only a year ago that Luigi began his journey on the exciting road to pop-stardom. “So far this whole experience has been pretty surreal; my feet literally haven’t touched the ground!”

Luigi’s sound attracted the attention of some of the most talented producers in the world including Timbaland's right hand man Jim Beanz who worked on Luigi’s forthcoming single “Strobelight”.

Beanz is the phenomenonally talented production genius whose previous collaborations include Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, Danity Kane and Shakira.

Luigi’s sound reflects the diversity of influences on the album while still being unashamedly pop. “I know the word’s overused but I really feel my album’s eclectic. The life blood that runs through the album is ‘pop’ but there’s rock, dance and r&b all mixed in for good measure.”

Unlike so many artists, Luigi is not on a mission to crown himself as ‘the king of cool’, his aspirations are as refreshing as they are endearing. “I want this album to do two things; to make people happy and to make them dance!” Considering the nature of Luigi’s glossy, beat driven, hook heavy, memorable pop productions, it seems the young star is well on his way to achieving these goals.

Whilst producing his debut album, Luigi also toured with two of the biggest girls groups in the country (Sugababes and Girls Aloud), an experience which has left him ready for his time in the spotlight. “Touring with the girls taught me so much in such a short space of time and although it was a little scary I loved it. I just can’t wait ‘till I go on my own tour!”

As for his future aspirations, Luigi plans to keep it simple, “To be honest I’m not just making music to please others, I really like what I’ve done, and most importantly, I can say I’m proud of it”.
