Mr. Cuben-Tatum is envied for a brilliant and amazingly diverse music career that started in the early 1980's with the new wave synth-pop act Square Wave.
The mid-eighties marked Cuben's essential programming and studio engineering contributions to the birth of Chicago House music with enduring club masters by Ben Mays, Frankie Knuckles, Ten City, Marshall Jefferson, Sterling Void, Kymmazelle, and countless other 12 inch vinyl stars from the venerable DJ International and Traxx Records rosters.
During the late 80's we saw Chris aiding chart topping pop artists like Milli Vanilli, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, NKOTB, Paula Abdul, and many others -- but the early 90's truly established his stamp on music history with amazing productiona and remix work for hip-hop soul supstars like ME PHI ME, SPEARHEAD, SWV and Grammy nominated world music pioneers, Zap Mama.
While completing network television series theme songs, international commericials, huge motion picture soundtracks, and constant touring, Mr. Cuben found occasion to introduce a revolutionary flavor to the smooth jazz sound of legendary saxophonist ART PORTER Jr.'s final studio CD release.
The new millennium brings more sonic greatness with the rock-funk of JUNBUG and the erotic hip-hop playa, CYRANO DE BERGERBLAQ.
2003 marks Mr. Cuben's 20th year in music and the best may be yet to come as the company he founded, CONCEPT ENTERPRISES INTERNATIONAL announces the debut of THAAT! Label and Thoze Records. Visit the official C.E.I. site at www.CEI.cc for more on Chris Cuben.
