A gifted producer of some of techno's most emotive moments. Perhaps not widely recognised, Yuji Takenouchi released a trio of EP's in the late '90's through 3 equally low key sub-labels from Belgium's R&S Records. Each of these releases is definitely worth your investment. In return you'll receive some of the smoothest, late night deep techno you'll ever own - akin to jam between John Beltran & Sterac.

If I were to single out the pick of the crop I'd highlight the 2 x 12" 'Brand New Day' which over its 4 long memorising cuts will make you wish he'd released much more music back in the day. I for one would happily write Juji a cheque to hear tracks that didn't make the EP's.

Simply put, he's one of Japan's best artists - up there with Hiroshi Watanabe (aka Kaito) and Yoshihiro Sawasaki (aka YS). For those looking for digital rather than physical copy you should check out the label 'Elements Of Souls' who have all 3 EP's in digital form on Bandcamp. On a personal note......please, please release some more new music !!
