He's been Renaissance Worldwide Helsinki resident and has played all around the world in Berlin (Tresor, WMF), Ibiza (Pacha), Hong Kong, France, UK, Denmark (Roskilde Festival), Tokyo (CODE), Toronto (Wintergalactic), Egypt, Macedonia, Russia (Tunnel Club), Frankfurt (Nature One Festival) and Amsterdam (Panama). At these events Orkidea has played with Paul van Dyk, Tiësto, Sven Väth, Jose Padilla, Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy just to name a few.
In 1999 Orkidea released his track "Unity" on Steelfish Records UK. It was played by all the big names including Pete Tong and John Digweed and was played by both Sasha and Paul Oakenfold as opening track for their Essential Mixes on BBC Radio 1. Since then he has released various singles on labels like Five AM, Black Hole, Unity and Sential Records, alongside various artist albums and mix compilations. His releases have earned many chart positions including Finnish singles chart #1 in 2005.
Orkidea has made remixes for legendary dance labels like Nettwerk (DJ Tiësto - Flight 643), Vandit (Aalto - Rush), Hooj Choons (Space Manoeuvres - Stage One), Lost Language (Tilt's 12), Solaris (Way Out West - Killa) and remixed mainstream artists such as The Doors and Bomfunk MC's. His work has been included on Renaissance, Gatecrasher, State of Trance and Ministry of Sound CD compilations.
He (rather inactively) runs his own Unity Records with artists like Slusnik Luna, Beatpusher and Dallas Superstars. In 2009 he joined Andy Moor's AVA Recordings label as A&R. He has also written and produced score music for three films and various TV-ads.
As a DJ Orkidea is a real chameleon. His sets can be anything from classic to progressive house, trance, breakbeat, minimal, techno and psy, all depending on where and with whom he is playing and the theme of the party. He holds the record of playing the longest ever DJ set in the history of Finland after spinning non stop for a whopping 23 hours on January 1st 2010 at club Red Rum in Helsinki. 23 Hours is also the longest possible set any DJ can play legally in Finland since all clubs and bars are required by law to be closed between 4 and 5 AM.
He has been running his own monthly show "Radio Unity" on Finnish National Radio 1 since 1998. After a year of absence he restarted his show in January of 2009 on AH.fm webradio and as a podcast. After a few months the show got picked up by Finnish radio station NRJ as well.
