Founded in 1984.

Papafio Quartey who comes from Ghana was, before he imigrated to West Germany, a tutor and demonstrator of traditional African dance and music at the Institute of African Studies of the University of Ghana, Legon. As an expert in his field he was a great assistance to both local and foreign researchers and ethnologists in their goal to explore more about West African culture.

He was for many years also a strong member of the once famous "Ghana Dance Drama Ensemble".

The two other foundation members, King Tito and Smallboy who had their basic African drumming mostly from the Ghanaian "Master Drummer" Mustapha Tettey Addy, believe that this particular style of african music has not only enriched them in their music repertoire, but also helped them immensely in creating a better and positive general understanding for indigenous cultures and their traditions.
