Formed in 1999 VooDou blends elements of Electronic Industrial with early 80's Goth Rock with a mix of melody, emotion, and dynamic song structure.

With the self released album "The Blessing of Curses" VooDou received praise and positive reviews from Industrial/Goth radio stations as Cyberage Radio, Synchromesh Audio, and Netradio's Wave Gothik radio program. Originally formed by Chad Wilder (guitars, bass), Michelle Walters (Vocals/Keyboards), and David Flick (Programming,Synths,Sampling).

VooDou appeared on various compilations including " Anonymous Messiah" a Marilyn Manson Tribute album on Dwell/Vitamin Records, Notes From Thee Real Underground on Underground Inc./Invisible Records, and The Phoenix Effect on Synchromesh Audio.

In 2001 VooDou expanded it's roster to include Ben Buchanan on Drums, Billy Miller on Bass, and Jeff Winfrey on Guitars to have a solid line up for live performances. After playing small shows and venues VooDou opened up for Godhead, Gravity Kills, and Pigface in Nov 2001 at the Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte NC.

Two months after their performance Martin Atkins (PIL, Ministry, former NIN) signs VooDou to Invisible Records for a debut release in July 23, 2002
