Ken Wilbard has never been in German Top-20 charts! Nor in 1976, nor in 1977, nor in 1978. The same thing with Austrian Top-20 charts. NEVER! Refer to official German and Austrian chart-archives. Therefore, fairy tales about the successful sale of the album, together with the shooting of clips, are nothing more than fairy tales.
From Austrian chart-archive:

Wonderful dialogue!
Well, when a person refers to the dialogue adequately.
I'm also inclined to believe that Ken Wilbard - maybe it's a stage name. Given that this man was originally from Lebanon...

Only one man may clarify the situation with Ken. This man is Christian Kolonovits. I think that 'Ken Wilbard' is not real name of this artist. It's alias. Also look at the fact that after recording the album Kolonovits left the project and two (or maybe more?) following singles 'Ken' recorded with another staff. It is also obvious that they proved to be a failure and 'Ken' simply quit from musical business.

Totally agree with You.
By the way interesting fact, I corresponded with one woman, which in those days were familiar with Ken Wilbard.
Here I am providing my correspondence with this woman. She's German, so the text in German:
"Hallo Eduardez,

The history of this nice singer described here is very doubtful. It seems that it was invented in Russia, where this record was very popular. Unfortunately this record was not so popular in Europe and after few singles issued after debut album the second LP were not recorded. But the story with car accident looks fairy and nice.
