Real Name:Χαρίκλεια Ρουπάκα = Hariklia Roupaka

Haris Alexiou is a Greek Laïkó & Éntekhno singer primarily and songwriter. Born 27 December 1950 in Thebes, Boeotia, Greece.
She is one of the most popular singers in Greece and has been commercially successful since the 1970s. She has worked with important Greek songwriters and composers, has performed at top musical theatres all over the world, and has received several awards.
"Όταν Πίνει Μια Γυναίκα" in 1970 was her first recording and contract of "Χάρις Αλεξίου" with Μίνως Μάτσας & Υιός Α.Ε. Her royalty for this contract (and some of the contracts that followed) was one copy of the recorded vinyl. Her 1996 live album "Γυρίζοντας Τον Κόσμο" sold over 135.000 copies in Greece and became platinum. In June 2020, she announced that she is stopping live performances after fifty years of presence in Greek music.
Founder and owner of the record label Estia Recordings and the production company Haris Productions Ltd/Haris Productions.
On May 15, 2010, the mayor of Izmir, Turkey gave the name of Haris Alexiou to a street of the city (the street where Alexiou's father was born): Haris Αleksiou Dostluk Caddesi (Haris Alexiou Friendship Street), honoring her origin and her contribution to art.
She has been married twice: to the producer Αχιλλέας Θεοφίλου (in 1975, they divorced), with whom they adopted a son, Μάνος Θεοφίλου (named after her dear friend, Μάνος Λοΐζος); and to her then manager Σωτήρης Μπασιάκος (on 1 March 1992).
