Orchestr Karla Krautgartnera (2)

Real Name:

Orchestr Karla Krautgartnera

Profile:

Czech big band. This orchestra name was used 1967–1968 only. Also credited as “Karel Krautgartner se svým orchestrem” when conducted by Krautgartner personally. Successor to the Czechoslovak Radio Dance Orchestra / Czechoslovak Radio Jazz Orchestra, with basically identical personnel. Renamed back to Czechoslovak Radio Dance Orchestra (Taneční orchestr Čs. rozhlasu/TOČR) after Karel Krautgartner’s emigration in August 1968.
Note: Please use this name only for the 1967–1968 recordings. Not to be confused with Orchestr Karla Krautgartnera (1956–1959, aka “Karel Krautgartner se svým orchestrem” or “Septet/Nonet Karla Krautgartnera”, a predecessor to Czechoslovak Radio Dance Orchestra), or with the 1960–1966 alias Karel Krautgartner Orchestra as used on some export or foreign releases.
