The Stone Gods story is one of massive disappointment for me.

I'll start by saying that when I first gave Silver Spoons & Broken Bones a proper listen through, I was super-excited by this band. I still listen to the album on a regular basis; it's brilliant. Then came the inevitable single releases/EPs which were all justifiable purchases for the B-sides alone. The B-sides from "Burn The Witch" and "Drink The Water" could've also been album tracks because they were just as good.

A while after the singles releases, they announced that work had begun on a second album. Two years later, after continual updates implying progress, we found out that Stone Gods had disbanded to make way for the reformation of The Darkness and that the status of the album was unknown (almost certainly shelved). It took another year with no updates on their site before most of us became despondent. Fast forward another couple of years and we can safely assume that the finished second album has been canned. It's a crying shame. I'm still gutted.

Anyway, I've been boycotting everything released by The Darkness since then and plan to continue until they release the second Stone Gods album. Don't get me wrong, I love The Darkness but, for me, they pale in comparison to Stone Gods.
