Japanese punk ~ alternative rock band formed in Osaka in 1985, active until 1993. Formed by 3 former members of Lemon Squeezer (3). The Newest Model originally played straight-forward punk rock with some mod and beat influences. Later began to add a variety of elements to their music; such as psychedelic rock, soul, funk, world music etc. and some of its members later formed Soul Flower Union and explored that sound further.
