Started in music in 1997 as a rapper & producer with a cracked copy of Fruity Loops at 17 years old.
Producer & member of The Shortbus Blues (as Daniel Shortbus), a Louisiana Hip-Hop collective
active in the early '00s around Baton Rouge & New Orleans. Founding member of Butttruck, an
8-piece improvised electronic act also from La who opened almost every Shortbus Blues show.
Self released first solo project in 2003, an instrumental Hip-Hop album released on cd-r called
'Silence... for like minded losers'. Followed by the first proper Shortbus Blues album ( there's an older one but...),
Human Art Dept. A growing fascination with electronic music especially that of the Warp catalog as well as a resurgent
interest Post-Punk/Hardcore/Metal & Indie-Rock led to the dissolution of The Shortbus Blues. Moving a few hours away
from BR would cause an unlikely occurrence that ultimately led to being kicked out of the band that he created, Buttruck. Another solo project would arise called Hooray for Cancer that self released one album before relocating to Los Angeles & sort of morphing into another
4-piece electronic-rock band called Murmur that still played some of the same songs. Murmur went through several line up
changes, played a ton of shows around LA but never released a proper album aside from random cd-r's given out at some
shows. They curated a month long residency at All-Star Lanes in Eagle Rock, Ca. where one of the shows was performed
along side Sasqrotch & Robedoor which led to Sasqrotch releasing a few tapes & a 10" on Not Not Fun. Joined Sasqrotch
(post-NNF), played a bunch of shows with them & released a few cassettes & cd-r's together as a band. Shitty life circumstances
forced a move to Santa Barbara,Ca.& the break up of Murmur. Started another solo project called Yuko x Chino shortly before
leaving LA around 2008. Released a bunch of cassettes & cd-r's under that moniker on labels like Ruralfaune, EXBX, Stunned Records, DNT & a few others before again shifting focus from Noise, Doom & Black Metal to getting back into producing Hip-Hop beats this time as Xavier McDaniel. This project kinda got swirled up in the whole Post-Dubstep ting that was going on at the time re-sparking an interest in creating IDM & various strains of electronic music. A bunch of self-releases & one lone track released officially on a compilation put out by Lowriders Collective from the Netherlands called Beatitude. A bit of a lull, a few moves back & forth across the country & in 2014 started releasing music again as XDCVR. An unreleased project with Robert from Sasqrotch called Sleeves plus another one with Joel from Deadbeat Debauchery called God's Acre started around the same time as XDCVR. Recorded/Mixed/Mastered Deadbeat Debauchery's second release for Phage Tapes, an upcoming XDCVR cassette on the French label Ruralfaune (recorded in 2015) plus an additional pseudo-anonymous Noise cassette for Phage both slated for Fall '17. A Bandcamp page boasting over 30 releases has an archive featuring a majority of the projects listed above, all available as free downloads.
