I have loved Britney since the first time I heard her wonderful ear candy.. from the first "Oh baby baby" .. simple pop.. manufacturered....sure... I don't expect brilliance and artistic statements from my pop dance artists.. I really don't even care if the vocals are enhanced.. I listen to classic rock, folk, singer /songwriter for depth...
When I want to dance and have fun. Don't care if it's a pop tart or legend. As long as my feet and heart feel the beat.. that's what makes songs great.. Britney used to have a great voice... like before the 07 meltdown.. alot was enhanced but there were also ballads that were not .. why hate it's not like she's going out for the Nobel prize.. it's all about fun and for the last 19/ 20 years Britney has had lots of it so have I dancing my ass off to her synthesized , sticky sweet pop pieces.

I don´t like the music even though a lot of her hits have been written by a bunch of swedes.
Well maybe I would respect her more if she had written a song or at least the lyrics?
She has gotten credit for something she hasn´t made just contributed with her voice.
Even MADONNA at least lyrics to her songs but here not?

I love how all these people who hate Britney came here to write paragraphs about her!! ”Living legend, you can look but don't touch!"

GO ON BRIT'. You're so courageous, nobody else could support a such pressure as you did, in all the music history.
So nice, so fine, so fragile but very strong and brave inside. Amazing!
The most respectable female star artist in the world.
If you don't like Britney Spears, beat it of this page, frustrated people, you couldn't have done better than her (especially men).

guys, please. it's obvious we're talking about a puppet, which has a great management and team production. but again we're talking about whom the only thing she did by her head was shaving here hair. she's an awful performer (come on, anyone can dance better now) and has no voice, its all autotune and effects. on the other hand we gotta face that her hits work, thanx to dr luke and all the other crap-creators. they do crap but they know how to do it!

I don't care who give me shit. I loved Britney in 1999, and I love her now. She's a performer, not an artist. You've got to judge her as such.

Crucified by fans or not, I'm going to rant about this woman now. I can remember when Britney Spears was brand new to the music scene. Her looks and minimal talent plus sidekick style dancing moves had got her a deal on a major pop record label and she had just released an album titled Baby One More Time. I did not, nor will I ever, buy this album. My brother, on the other hand, did buy this. Naturally, I have heard many Spears songs, and again, naturally, I am not awestruck by any single one of them. Here comes the rant you've all been waiting to read. Spears prides herself over her looks. She may say in interviews that she is not about her appearance and that her music has a message, but when it all comes down to it, people watch her because she used to be sexy. Yes, I said used to be, and keep that in mind. Remember when her old albums came out? Yeah, she was smoking hot and I won't be the only one to admit it. However, with her lack of public appeal, her looks have also taken a hit. (Not to mention her record sales) I'm sure you all saw her bomb of a performance earlier in the year, but apart from that, I'm sure you have all started to see how bad she really is. Her lyrics are half attempted at best. They are rhymes that a 5th grader could produce and they are sung in a way that benefits her body rather than the music itself. She has never done a music video where she just sits down on a stool and sings. I use that example because other major pop stars, especially in the country genre(which i hate) use this method to prove that they are not all looks. I like to see a big pop singer sit down and do an acoustic song. It shows that they can sing, and better yet, it shows that the song means something. If you take away all the dancing from the Spears videos and songs, you are just left with an empty shell of a musical disaster. To rant further, look at how she dresses. I'm not one to bash people who dress sexy, but when you go as far as appearing half nude to a press conference, you have something wrong inside your head. And to think that she considers herself a role model for today's youth. Well, I better not be too hasty on that call since our youth today are known for drug usage, almost as much as the youth of the '70s. (Hello modern day flower children...)

Wow, I actually put a break in this one. I felt it was needed. Here we go again. (Go pee and come back.)

You know you suck for a pop singer when your releases don't even add up to 1/3rd of the releases your songs appear on. Basically, from my interpretation of this, many people like one or two of her songs, but not the rest of them. Look at the stuff that her songs appear on though. You have labels like Jive, which remember, they signed her in the first place, releases or re-releasing her songs on their own label to try and promote her further. You even have labels like Zomba trying to get in on the action. Remember people, the almighty Zomba Records has released trash from bands like N-Sync and Pink. (I'm a bit saddened that Mudvayne let a release of theirs fall under this label, but weird crap happens all the time) You can start to learn by what a label releases. For example, with Zomba, no matter who gets signed to them, you can almost guarantee that they will sound "popish". You all know what that means so do not jump on me for making up a word. We've all done it before. Zomba will promote the hell out of the artist, featuring their songs all over the internet and radio until they become drilled into our heads; drilled so far that you have nothing else better to do than seek out that song to listen to it again.

Final words: (yeah, a paragraph to this one) Britney is just like any other teenage pop superstar. She started out sexy and catchy, but has turned into another train wreck. She has been on and off drugs, been a raging alcoholic (which is surprisingly not just limited to rock stars anymore), and has dealt with weight and image problems since her first appearance. Honestly, I bet that if she stopped giving such a crap about how skimpy her next outfit should be, she may actually have enough time to sit down and write one decent song. However, that may be a lost cause after all that she's done. I give this artist at 1/100. The 1 is even being fairly generous of me.

I could get crusified by the fans, but, to me, Britney Spears began to be interesting when she cut her hair. She is the classic example of a star, exhausted with everything. Exhausted by people telling her what to sing, what to eat, what to dress, what to say or not to say, who she should be going out with. Exhausted to be the "good example", the "American princess", the perfect, pure, virgin, angel of god.
And fans go as far as leaving messages everywhere, asking "Why Britney?". Well, because she wants to. And this is where you begin where you are a real artist: you express yourself. You do the things you want to do. And you don't care about what other people say.
To say the girl doesn't have any potential is wrong. She is obviously a good singer and a talented dancer. Even Madonna believed in her. But people will have to realize she's also a human being.
The haircut was a professional suicide. One can only dream what her comeback will sound like.
