Upon discovering Aleksi just under a year ago I have listened to his entire discography from start to finish. Something about how he introduces the Colundi Sequence into DnB and other electronic genres creates a type of music I have never seen achieved by anyone other than him. Aleksi is truly a unique specimen in the industry of modern music and I don't think I'll see anyone like him for a long while. Though I've been listening to him actively for only a short time he has been and will continue to be my favorite artist of the 2000s-2020s

I am starting to think Aleksi may be one of the greatest artists of my time. I simply can't get enough of his albums. I would like a complete collection so I can just play it on loop all day every day. I think it would be like living in a dream existence.

A lot of talk about academicism (I understand, getting into the technical is a rabbit hole difficult to resist) and not enough about the incredible results when hundreds of hours of music are released every year by this handsome Finnish guy. It would appear that just laying the elements there and letting them loop do all the work, all the heavy lifting, but there is real craft there, ear for hooks, for melodies, for rhythm. Pick up any release from the last 6 years for example and a random track, and you will like it, and it may be breaks, downtempo, techno or ambient or whatever he wants to do. I feel so much inferior knowing what this guy is doing.

What an amazing progression from his first releases to today. He obviously went to a college for music study. His Astrobotnia works are my favorite, but his Colundi works are beyond what music is usually supposed to express to the human ear (by the un un-initiated listener). He has created his own frequency scales for an un-replicated world unless you download the frequency data files. The Korg Monologue gives a glimpse into the world of custom frequency scales. This is one of the secret weapons Aphex used 20 years ago to ensure he couldn't be copied. Everyone is familiar with the sequence editing, synths and drum machines used but the custom note scales are still a bit of the stranger world yet to be fully explored.

The entire Colundi oeuvre will go down as one of the highlights of this decade. 7 years in and no signs of stopping. A triumph. If I recall we still have 4 levels to go...

Another member of the Rephlex crew that could be qualified as a magician.
His music is beautiful, unique, perfectly sane and insane at the same time. The sounds are so harmonious that you feel you're in a warm bath.
It's also very inspiring. Listen to it at almost any volume, and a few minutes later you'll find insights bursting out of your train of thoughts.
