Willis Threats, Jr. (aka Roy Tann) was born in Texas on June 24th, 1920.
His first record was released on Aladdin in 1946 under his real name as a vocalist for a few bands such as The Four Kings (6).
He went on to record for Million Records, and around 1957, started his own label Tan Records to release his song Isabella which was then reissued on Dot Records along with a few more of his songs.
A lot of his songs were written by Johnnie Getz, who was Threats' manager according to his sax player Plas Johnson.
Threats' TAN label was known to have released music by at least one other artist, singer Ray Agee.
Willis Threats, Jr. passed away in LA on August 16, 1998 and is buried at Riverside National Cemetery in California.
