Charles Jefferys was born, in London, 11th January 1807 & died 9th June 1865. He was an English music publisher and composer of songs. He wrote the words of several popular songs, including The rose of Allandale, Mary of Argyle, and Jeannett's farewell to Jeannot, and himself composed Rose Atherton, Oh Erin, my country!, and other songs.
