Birmingham's Son Of A Gun appeared on a talent show broadcast by ITV in 1975 called New Faces which went out every Saturday teatime. Some of the panellists included Mickie Most who at the time was boss of the RAK record label (Mud, Suzie Quatro, Smokie, Racey, etc); Tony Hatch who was a musical composer who arranged the Crossroads and Rupert The Bear TV themes and comedians Arthur Askey & Ted Ray. Most was impressed with Son Of A Gun and said they had the talent to make it much bigger if they got the musical breaks. That break never came.
