Somegirl formed in 2000 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Stephen Mork, an electronic musician of some 10 years, placed an ad for a female vocalist looking to form a songwriting duo. Kristin Buckman responded, but, on the eve of the release of their debut, Kristin decided to leave the band and move to the west coast of the United States. Without a singer to support the CD, Steve decided to take a break and focus on production and remix work. In the summer of 2003, Steve decided to find a new singer and begin work on the second Somegirl CD. Another ad was placed in the same local paper and this time Texan Anada was the obvious choice.
