CMW

Real Name:
Aaron Tyler, Vernon Johnson, Gene Heisser, Mike Bryant
Profile:
Compton's Most Wanted (also known as "Tha Wanted Gang"). Legendary West Coast Compton rap pioneers, consisting of MC Eiht (who also played the role of "A Wax" in the movie "Menace II Society"), Tha Chill, Boom Bam, DJ Mike T (3), and DJ Ant C. Produced by DJ Slip (3), The Unknown DJ and Mike T (3).
CMW was influenced by Oldies, Soul, Funk, Zapp & Roger, Eazy-E, N.W.A., Public Enemy, and EPMD.
MC Eiht wrote all of the lyrics, including for Tha Chill, who was originally beat-boxer for the group.
CMW made their debut on the "Compton Compilation: Sound Control Mob "Under Investigation" album, Executive Produced by Lonzo Williams.

Full Length Albums include "It's A Compton Thang" (1989), which was first released as a blue cassette tape. This later influenced DJ Quik to title his controversial underground cassette, "The Red Tape". CMW followed up with their sophmore album "Straight Chekn Em" (1991), followed by "Music 2 Drive-By" (1992), "We Come Strapped" (1994), "Death Threatz" (1996), "Represent" (2000), "Music 2 Gang Bang" (2006), and "Compton O.G." (2006). They released 13 singles between all of the albums.
CMW was one of the first rap groups to feature Male Vs. Female MC scenario ("Whose Is It (Give it Up, Part 2), 1989), before Ice Cube and Yo-Yo's "It's A Man's World", 1990. In the early days, CMW drove around to the shows in a big, white cargo truck they called "Big White", named after the Compton Courthouse. CMW were interviewed by Fab 5 Freddy on Yo! MTV Raps several times.

They had very public feuds with DJ Quik and Tim Dog.
CMW are very close friends with Gang Starr. Also Da Lench Mob, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, DJ Pooh, King Tee, Tha Alkaholiks, Threat, Kam (2), Candyman, WC And The Maad Circle, Yo-Yo, Tha Dogg Pound, Big Tray Deee, Nikki D, Westside Connection, Geto Boys, Spice One, 2nd II None, and Jayo Felony.

CMW Later split apart and 8 began saying "MC Eiht featuring CMW" on his album covers. 8, Tha Chill & Boom Bam formed N.O.T.R., but their album was never released as Tha Chill continued to serve prison time throughout the years. They all rejoined years later and perform as CMW to this day. CMW are also in the West Coast supergroup 1st Generation with King Tee, Kurupt, Jayo Felony, Sir Jinx, Battlecat, Gangsta from the Comrads, and others.

MC Eiht recently finished full length albums with DJ Premier, and Pete Rock; as well as work with The Alchemist.
Tha Chill is a producer for artists like 213, Kurupt, MC Ren, Kokane, Redman, and Jayo Felony.
Boom Bam is still rapping in CMW and now lives in Las Vegas, NV.
Mike T (3) still repping CMW and repping Inglewood, CA.
MC Eiht & Tha Chill have a side project called ECMP meaning "Eiht and Chill Making Paper". They created ECMP out of their admiration for the rap group EPMD.
