1997 & I'm working in a warehouse in Notts. Sh*t job, only for a few of the management guys who knew their musical onions. The tannoy got taken over when the big cats were away, & a turntable got wired through. The lads would bring in untold goodies a spratt like me had never heard of, I still consider it as a proper thorough speed schooling. One such record that stuck with me heavily was, among all the Global Comms tracks, 'New School Science'. Ahem. P- Funk techno, with a massive set of big knockers. What an album. Thanks to Pat, Wiggy & Christian for the lessons... Oh, & thanks Pat for firing me.

If I remember correctly, George Lucas was none too happy with their use of Jedi Knights (clearly the Funk was NOT with him).

New School Science was probably one of the most important & underrated electronic albums of the 90's. It not only paved the way for the electro revivals in the UK & US, but also layed the groundwork for the nu breaks movement & made underground heroes of Tom Middleton & Mark Pritchard. Both have gone their separate ways since, but the faithful are still hoping for a return of the Jedis someday...
