It is a delight to listen when pop music is done with such care, it really is art. A companion to It's Immaterial "Song" album that was released around the same time, with vocals like I Start Counting/Komputer.

One of my favs. FC was so ahead of their time and every word written and every note played was cool and perfectly produced by FC, Hugh Jones and Ian Brodie. Their third album was a bit different seeing as the band had parted ways with Tim Freeman and it's more of a solo album. Their first 2 albums are synth pop masterpieces. The remixes are also essential.

I don't know about being up there with Cocteau Twins, but Frazier Chorus were certainly underrated, maybe misunderstood, and probably mis-represented by the music industry. They deserved more, but who knows what happened behind the scenes . . . another music casualty. Just listen to Storm.

I bought all of their vinyl as it came out. The Sloppy Heart EP, 4AD version (not that it is different) is a sublime record. It's fair to say, it was good to have it on 4AD as being a 'soft' sound which could go by without being detected in the Eighties, 4AD gave FC a head start; you took them seriously, gave them a fair chance and listening - yes they are fantastic and they do have a bit of an edge. [“Scared to move and drenched in piss”, Storm lyrics, and their funny rendition of Anarchy in the UK.]

It's strange they didn’t follow up their 4AD EP with an album, and instead moved on to ‘bigger’ production. Also, it seems the bigger production ate them up alive; Frazier Chorus produced a few hits and fizzled out. I recon they should’ve stayed with 4AD – I wonder what happened?

For me, Frazier Chorus is easy listening music at its best. It’s intelligent, does have an edge, is not cheesy and is a wonderful sound.

My goodness, this band were underrated. Hardly talked about now but right up there with China Crisis and The Cocteau Twins for 90's dream pop
