In 2004, the first demo "Perishness Around Us" was recorded and preparations for the first studio album were in full swing. All activities came to an abrupt stop when Juergen Zintz tragically committed suicide. The demo was never released to the public.
In 2009, Tobias and Sebastian Ludwig (both Wraithcult, Ex-Helfahrt) und session drummer Seraph (Dark Fortress) completed the line-up and Thulcandra was able to finish their debut album. "Fallen Angels Dominion" was released through Napalm Records in 2010. It is heavily influenced by Dissection and included a cover version of "The Somberlain". The album was well received by fans and critics a like.
In 2011 their second album “Under a Frozen Sun” was unleashed, continuing the musical path laid out on their debut, honoring and revitalizing the trademark of the Swedish blackened death metal of the nineties. This time included a cover version of Unanimated's classic track "Life Demise".
The third album, "Ascencion Lost" came out in early 2015. The initial Digipak pressing included the unreleased "Perishness Around Us" demo from 2004.
Thulcandra pays homage to a style brought back to life with blazing intensity. Dissection, Unanimated, Necrophobic will be relieved to know that their darkly legacy continues to impress at the hands of Thulcandra and artistic mastery of the legendary Kristian “Necrolord” Wåhlin.
