Born Québec City, 1968. After studying guitar in college, he first released music focusing on prepared guitar in 1995. That same year he began collaborating on the production of radio programs, where he started producing electroacoustic music. The following year he joined the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal. There he completed his master’s degree under Yves Daoust
and received the Prize in Electroacoustic Composition. He also received several prizes in composition: the SOCAN Young Composers Competition (Canada, 1998); the Canadian Electroacoustic Community’s competition Jeu de temps / Times Play (CEC, Canada, 2000); the biennial acousmatic composition competition Métamorphoses 2002 (Brussels, Belgium).
His music has been broadcasted in Canada and abroad, and it can also be heard on film and in installations. Christian Bouchard also works as a audio engineer and sound designer for film and video.
