Country blues singer and guitarist, born February 2, 1901, in Bolton, Mississippi, died April 22, 1975 in Chicago.
Vinson recorded extensively 1929-1941, often with Mississippi Sheiks or with musicians from that circle. He recorded again for Riverside in 1961, and as a member of The New Mississippi Sheiks in 1972. Mostly inactive due to illness in his last years.
